COURSE DESCRIPTION

Jaw pain affects a significant proportion of the population in Denmark. There are several factors and causes that can cause jaw pain, and the consequences of this pain can have a significant impact on daily life for most people.

Causes of jaw pain can range from temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD), bruxism (teeth grinding), muscular tension and stress to trauma or infection in the jaw area.

This intensive manual jaw treatment course is designed for practitioners who want to learn how to treat jaw dysfunction with manual therapy. The course will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively diagnose and treat jaw problems, including temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) and jaw pain.

In this course, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the anatomy of the jaw, including the jaw joint, muscles, nerves and associated structures. You will also learn about the biomechanics of the jaw and how it is affected by various factors. Most people are aware that improper jaw function often causes headaches.

You will learn different manual treatment techniques including mobilization, MET (muscle energy technique), massage and trigger point therapy.

All practitioners can participate, regardless of level and education, as it will be new to everyone whether you are a massage therapist, acupuncturist, physiotherapist, dentist or have another practitioner education.

Most importantly, you can go straight home and use the techniques safely and with incredible effect for your clients/patients.
